Residential Garbage Services
Pride Disposal & Recycling provides weekly curbside collection of garbage. We will supply you with a garbage cart sized for your needs. Make sure to have your carts out by 6am on your scheduled collection day.
What You Need to Know
Cart Sizing Guide
Pride provides a garbage roll cart to every customer. Roll carts come in four sizes. Please note that 20-gallon and 32-gallon carts may have an insert (false bottom) inside to reduce the capacity of the cart to the service level you’ve selected. See the graphic below to determine what size roll cart best fits your needs.
Cart Placement Guide
Pride’s trucks have automated arms that service your carts. In order for our drivers to operate the trucks as efficiently and safely as possible, we ask that you abide by the following placement guidelines:
- Provide 5 feet of clearance on each side of the carts. (If you can walk between carts without touching them you've left adequate space.)
- Set all carts within 5 feet of the road for pickup.
- Point carts with the lid opening toward the street. (Check the arrows on top of the lid.)
- Ensure 18 feet of overhead clearance.
- Keep your carts clear of parked vehicles, mailboxes, basketball hoops, trees, and other potential obstacles.
- Do not block bike lanes, vehicle lanes of travel, or sidewalks.
Garbage Preparation
Bag your garbage before placing it in your garbage cart. This helps keep your cart and your neighborhood clean. You are charged for services based on the size of your garbage cart and volume of waste. Any extra material that does not fit within your cart (with the lid closed) may generate an extra charge when collected.
Household Garbage
Your garbage roll cart is for regular household garbage only. Keep in mind that all of our garbage trucks are automated: when the arm on the truck picks up your carts, no blockage should prevent your garbage from falling into the truck. Please keep your carts easy to empty by making sure nothing is wedged in the cart, and by bagging all material inside.

Will my collection be impacted by inclement weather?
When dealing with inclement weather, safety is our priority. The safety of our employees is important to us, and we prioritize their well-being whether they're behind the wheels of our trucks or traveling to and from work. Your safety is also important to us, and we may alter our collection services during inclement weather if we determine regular procedures may pose a danger to people or property. When roads are covered in snow and ice, for instance, it may be difficult for our trucks to safely stop and start at every home. If we make the decision to alter our collection services in any way due to weather, we will do our best to notify all customers of the change.
