icon_services_yard_debris Yard Debris Services

Pride Disposal & Recycling provides regular yard debris collection in participating areas (Rural Washington County does not receive yard debris services). Depending on your current level of garbage collection service, yard debris collection may be included in your plan, or it may cost an additional monthly fee.

Pride provides 60-gallon roll carts for yard debris customers. Yard debris includes all non-food material that grows in your yard.

Extra Yard Debris

If you anticipate having large quantities of yard debris, additional Pride roll carts are available (with a one-year commitment and monthly fee). You may also use heavy-duty paper yard debris bags or personal cans that are no heavier than 60 lbs. when full, and no larger than 32 gallons. Any extra yard debris that does not fit within your cart (with the lid closed) may generate an extra charge when collected. Please do not include any plastic bags—even if labeled “compostable” or “biodegradable”—with your yard debris.

Christmas Trees & Wreaths

Christmas trees and wreaths can be placed in your yard debris cart (make sure to remove all decorations, metal frames, and non-organic material). If the tree does not fit inside your cart, you can leave it at the curb in place of your cart and we will pick it up at no charge. If the tree is over 5 feet tall, it must be cut in half. If you leave your tree at the curb in addition to your yard debris cart, you will incur an additional charge.

Yard Debris

Yard debris includes all non-food material that grows in your yard. Please ensure only the correct materials are included in your yard debris cart. Do not include any inorganic material, food, or plastic bags—even if labeled “compostable” or “biodegradable.”

Will my pickup day change because of a holiday?

Pride Disposal & Recycling drivers work all holidays other than Christmas Day and New Year's Day. If the holiday falls on a weekday during the Christmas or New Year's week, service will occur one day later, starting with the holiday and through the end of the week, with the new collection schedule concluding on Saturday. For example, if the holiday falls on a Thursday, customers with service on Thursdays will receive service on Friday, and Friday customers will be picked up on Saturday. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no change in the pickup schedule for that week.

The best way to save money on services is to use a garbage receptacle correctly sized for your needs. If you are not filling your garbage cart or container each week or are overfilling it consistently, it may be cost-effective to choose garbage receptacle more appropriately sized for your service needs. Will my collection be impacted by inclement weather?

When dealing with inclement weather, safety is our priority. The safety of our employees is important to us, and we prioritize their well-being whether they're behind the wheels of our trucks or traveling to and from work. Your safety is also important to us, and we may alter our collection services during inclement weather if we determine regular procedures may pose a danger to people or property. When roads are covered in snow and ice, for instance, it may be difficult for our trucks to safely stop and start at every home. If we make the decision to alter our collection services in any way due to weather, we will do our best to notify all customers of the change.
