Yard Debris Services
Pride Disposal & Recycling provides regular yard debris collection in participating areas (Rural Washington County does not receive yard debris services). Depending on your current level of garbage collection service, yard debris collection may be included in your plan, or it may cost an additional monthly fee.
Pride provides 60-gallon roll carts for yard debris customers. Yard debris includes all non-food material that grows in your yard such as leaves, weeds, grass clippings, and small prunings no larger than 4" in diameter and 36" in length. You can also include residential quantities of food scraps. If you are a commercial customer that generates more than residential food scraps quantities, that food should not be included in your yard debris cart, but you can sign up for commercial food scraps services.
Extra Yard Debris
If you anticipate having large quantities of yard debris, additional Pride roll carts are available (with a monthly fee). You may also use heavy-duty paper yard debris bags or personal cans that are no heavier than 60 lbs. when full, and no larger than 32 gallons. Any extra yard debris that does not fit within your cart (with the lid closed) may generate an extra charge when collected. Please do not include any plastic bags—even if labeled “compostable” or “biodegradable”—with your yard debris.
Christmas Trees & Wreaths
Christmas trees and wreaths can be placed in your yard debris cart (make sure to remove all decorations, metal frames, and non-organic material). If the tree does not fit inside your cart, you can leave it at the curb in place of your cart and we will pick it up at no charge. If the tree is over 5 feet tall, it must be cut in half. If the tree is over 4 feet wide, it also needs to be cut down. If you leave your tree at the curb in addition to your yard debris cart, you will incur an additional charge.
Flocked trees are not accepted as yard debris, but they can be collected as garbage. Contact our office for more information.
